This page is for you if you are new to TNPSC. Follow the five steps in order.

## 1. What is TNPSC?

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts the competitive exams for Tamil Nadu government posts. Notifications, dates and results are published officially on [tnpsc.gov.in](https://www.tnpsc.gov.in).

## 2. Which exam is yours?

Each exam has its own education requirement. The [Exams](/exams) page has a page for each exam. Confirm your eligibility in that exam's notification.

## 3. Read the notification

The age limits, education, fee and last date are in the notification. Read all of it. Notifications are on the [Notifications page](https://www.tnpsc.gov.in/English/Notification.aspx) of tnpsc.gov.in. For Group 4, see [how to read the notification](/guides/group-4-notification-guide).

## 4. Look at the exam pattern and the syllabus

The [Group 4 page](/exams/group-4) lists the parts, questions, marks and units with the official links.

## 5. One lesson a day

A little study every day is the simplest way. The TNPSC Guide app has lessons for Group 4 only for now, and the lessons for the first 3 days are free. Read about the [30-day program](/programme) too. You can follow these five steps without the app.
