TNPSC Guide is not the official TNPSC website. Apply only on the official portal, apply.tnpscexams.in.

Checked on: 28.10.2026. On that day neither the Announcements block on tnpsc.gov.in nor the press releases page listed a notice extending the last date.

This guide explains, in plain words, what Notification 11/2026 says about applying for Group 4. Each step gives the page and paragraph, so you can check it yourself. Page numbers are from the English PDF; in case of doubt, the English version is final (para 6.5, page 21).

Open the notification in English or Tamil. From the tnpsc.gov.in home page, it may first ask for a security check (captcha).

Prepare both files in these sizes (Annexure I, para 2.2, page 23). Keeping them in one folder is our suggestion.

For the pages that hold the age and qualification rules, see the key pages of the notification, and confirm you are eligible before you apply.

Already registered on OTR?

Kumar registered on OTR four years ago. Does it still work? The rule: an OTR is valid for five years from the date of registration (Annexure I, para 2.1, page 23). Check your exact registration date on your OTR dashboard.

  • If it is still valid: log in and go straight to the Group 4 application (para 1.3.1, page 1).
  • If Aadhaar is not linked yet: linking is mandatory to access or renew an existing OTR (para 2.5, page 23).
  • Do not register twice: the notification says to register on OTR only once (para 2.1).

How do I apply, step by step?

These steps follow the notification, not every button on the portal.

Step 1: Open apply.tnpscexams.in

Applications are accepted online only (para 1.3.1, page 1). The notification prints the address as www.tnpscexams.in; when we checked on 19.10.2026, the application pages opened at apply.tnpscexams.in. Do not enter your details on any other site.

Step 2: Complete One Time Registration (OTR)

New candidates register on OTR first. The fee is Rs.150, and the registration is valid for five years (para 2.1, page 23). You will need your e-mail ID, mobile number, Aadhaar, photograph and signature.

Step 3: Check your OTR details

Your OTR details become the basis of every application you make later (para 2.6.3, page 23). If your SSLC details are wrong, the application will be rejected after due process (para 2.6.1). Compare your name, date of birth and numbers with your certificates, one by one.

Step 4: Fill in the Group 4 application

Choose your post option carefully (para 1.3.3, page 2). There are two choices:

  • Not willing to be considered for Forest Guard with Driving Licence and Forest Watcher: "Posts other than Forest Guard with Driving Licence / Forest Watcher".
  • Willing to be considered for every post, including those two: "All the Posts".

You are admitted to the exam on the basis of the claims in your application (para 5.1, page 17), so make only claims that are true and that you can prove.

Step 5: Upload your documents

Upload a certificate for every claim you make. Your date of birth is checked against your SSLC or HSC mark sheet (para 4.1.6.1, page 8). If the document for an age concession is missing, the candidature is rejected after due process (para 4.1.6.2, page 8).

Step 6: Pay the fee

Step 6: Pay the fee
FeeAmountSource
One Time Registration (OTR)Rs.150, valid for five yearsAnnexure I, para 2.1, page 23
Exam feeRs.100Annexure I, para 3.9.1, page 28
Fee exemptionSee para 3.9.2 and Annexure IIpage 28

Without an exemption, pay the exam fee with the application. Choose "Yes" or "No" for the fee concession carefully: you cannot change it after you submit (para 3.9.4, page 28). Keep your own count of how often you have used the concession.

Step 7: Check, submit and save a copy

Check the whole form before the final submission. You cannot blame an internet cafe for mistakes later; the responsibility is yours (para 2.2, page 2). You can preview the application (para 3.8.2, page 28), and you have applied only when you press SUBMIT (para 3.8.4).

Then save a copy on your phone. That is our advice, not a rule in the notification.

Made a mistake? Can I correct it?

Yes. You can edit the details until the last date for applications, 05.11.2026 (Annexure I, para 3.11.1, page 29). After that, only in the correction window: 09.11.2026, 12.01 AM to 11.11.2026, 11.59 PM. After that, no change is allowed (paras 1.2 and 1.3.2, page 1).

  • A claim added after you submit is not entertained (para 1.3.5, page 2).
  • The fee-concession Yes/No choice cannot be changed after submission (para 3.9.4).
  • We cannot promise any correction will be accepted. Filling the form correctly the first time is safest.

Where do I get the hall ticket?

The hall ticket for eligible candidates will be available to download on www.tnpscexams.in, the address printed in the notification. It is not sent by post (para 8.1, page 21). We do not have a release date for it; watch tnpsc.gov.in for the announcement.

Who can I ask for help?

  • Toll-free number: for working days; the number and hours are in para 9.1, page 21.
  • E-mail: the address for OTR and application queries is in para 9.2, page 21. Write from your registered e-mail ID, or you will not get a reply (para 2.4, page 23).
  • Beware of touts: TNPSC says recruitment is purely merit-based and warns against agents who promise jobs (para 2.1, page 2).

TNPSC Guide will never apply on your behalf, and we will never ask for your password or Aadhaar number.

Frequently asked questions

Is my old One Time Registration (OTR) still valid?

An OTR is valid for five years from the date of registration (Notification 11/2026, Annexure I, para 2.1, page 23). Check your registration date on your OTR dashboard. Linking Aadhaar is mandatory to renew or access an existing OTR (para 2.5). Do not register a second time.

Is One Time Registration the same as applying?

No. OTR only collects your details; it is not an application for any post. You still have to apply for Group 4 separately (Annexure I, para 2.3, page 23).

What is the application fee?

If you have never done One Time Registration (OTR), you pay two fees: Rs.150 for OTR (Annexure I, para 2.1, page 23), then the Rs.100 exam fee (para 3.9.1, page 28). That is Rs.250 in all (our sum). If you are eligible for a fee exemption and claim it, you do not pay the exam fee. Who is eligible is set out in para 3.9.2 and Annexure II. Do not rely on lists online; read that paragraph yourself.

When will the hall ticket be released?

TNPSC has not announced the date yet (checked 28.10.2026). Watch tnpsc.gov.in. Once released, you download it yourself from www.tnpscexams.in, as the notification names it; it is not sent by post (Notification 11/2026, para 8.1, page 21).

Can I change the fee-concession choice in the correction window?

No. The fee-concession Yes/No choice cannot be modified or edited after you submit (Notification 11/2026, para 3.9.4, page 28). The correction window (09.11.2026 to 11.11.2026, page 1) opens only after the last date for applications, 05.11.2026. Candidates who are not eligible for the concession, or who have already used the maximum number of free chances, must choose "No" (para 3.9.5, page 29). So read para 3.9.2 and Annexure II and choose carefully before you submit. Before you trust a site that says otherwise, read that paragraph yourself.
