TNPSC Guide is not the official TNPSC site. Official information and applications are only on TNPSC's own websites.
The Group 4 notification is a long English PDF, with a separate Tamil file. You do not need to read it all at once. This page is a map: it shows which page holds what, and every figure carries its page number. Pages follow the English file; the Tamil file is paged differently, but both give the key dates on page 1.

Where do I download the notification?
On the tnpsc.gov.in ↗ home page, look for this title: "Combined Civil Services Examination-IV (Group IV Services) (Notification No. 11/2026)". It links both the Tamil and the English files.
When you open them from the home page, a security check (captcha) may appear first. Complete it and the file opens. The direct links below opened without a check on 19.10.2026:
Both files are large. If your mobile data is limited, download them once on Wi-Fi and keep them.
If the Tamil and English versions differ, para 6.5 (page 21) says which one is final. Read it yourself.

How many vacancies are there?
There are 6,574 vacancies in total across 46 posts (pages 3-4, para 3). Village Administrative Officer is post code 2025, with 291 vacancies (page 3).
The count is tentative and can change before counselling starts (para 3.1, page 5).
Note your post code; the age and qualification tables use it too.
Where are the age and qualification rules?
Age is counted as on 01.07.2026 (para 4.1, page 5). The limits change from post to post, and by category. The age tables run from page 5 to page 8. The qualification table is in para 4.2, and the Tamil-knowledge rule is in para 4.4.
Here is how to read the rows for Village Administrative Officer (post code 2025):
- Page 5, para 4.1.1: candidates in the "Others" category must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 30 years on 01.07.2026.
- Page 6, para 4.1.2: SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 40 years on 01.07.2026.
- Para 4.2.2 (page 14): the minimum general educational qualification is a pass in the Tamil Nadu SSLC examination. Check the row for your post in the para 4.2 table.
Persons with benchmark disability, ex-servicemen and destitute widows get age concessions. They are in the same tables and in Annexure II. Check the row for your own category in the PDF yourself.
What is the exam scheme?
One paper: 200 questions, 300 marks, 3 hours, OMR mode (para 6, page 20). Part A, the Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test, has 100 questions for 150 marks. Part B General Studies has 75 questions and Part C Aptitude and Mental Ability has 25; together they carry 150 marks.
Parts B and C are evaluated only if you score at least 60 marks (40%) in Part A (para 6.1, page 20). For the full picture, read our guide to the exam pattern and marks.
How much are the fees?
One Time Registration (OTR) costs Rs.150 and stays valid for five years from the date of registration (Annexure I, para 2.1, page 23).
The exam fee is Rs.100, paid with the online application unless you claim an exemption (Annexure I, para 3.9.1, page 28). Who is exempt is set out in para 3.9.2 and Annexure II.
What happens after you apply?
Correction window. You can edit your application details until the last date, 05.11.2026 (Annexure I, para 3.11.1, page 29). After applications close, a three-day correction window opens from 09.11.2026 to 11.11.2026. You can edit your application details then. No change is allowed after it (para 1.3.2, page 1).

Who do I ask if I have a doubt?
TNPSC's helpline number and help e-mail address are in para 9 (page 21).
TNPSC Guide is not TNPSC and cannot answer for it. Ask TNPSC directly about your application, fees and hall ticket.
